Tide turning in Malvern?

Posted by volresource on January 27, 2008

A whole bunch of news items this week in the Malvern Gazette and elsewhere on positive green action. Is this just a blip?

Belle Vue Terrace Trees. The independent expert’s report on the two plane trees is very much in line with what campaigners have been seeing. A scanned copy is in on their Myspace pages.

A leading Green district councillor (John Raine) is calling for Malvern Hills (that’s the whole council area, not just the town) to become a plastic-bag-free (pbf) zone by the end of the year.

There is also letter in support of PBF action, and the Greenpeace group also pushing on this too.

Plus the district council is also to take an in-depth look at what it does with household waste, which should lead to more recycling and less landfill.

Moving Malvern Green

Posted by volresource on January 27, 2008

I’ve previously been splitting info on environmental issues relevant to Malvern between MalvernTrail and the MEGA forum. The forum will still be available for particular use, but as I’m already using WordPress for CycleMalvern, I thought I’d be more productive focusing here.
