Minor update on Malcolm’s comment – the film title is ‘The End of Suburbia?’, which is recommended by Transition Towns. The showing is by invite of Mike at Greenlink, and anyone wanting to attend really should contact him beforehand, due to the limited space.

We can start with the next event, which is the “Death of Suburbia” film being shown at Greenlink at 7pm on Wednesday the 9th July at 7.00pm. As space is limited it is worth contactig Greenlink if interested. The film describes (I am told) how suburban life becomes impossible without oil. It is best to adapt beforehand!

There's a discussion forum ready and waiting on the MEGA website. A specific 'board' can be set up e.g.the local butterfly recording group is using it to keep track of what is going on. Some people prefer email discussion lists, though, as they don't have to go on the web to respond (it is possible to get sent emails of new items from the web discussion forum).

I see the purposes of a web site as:
To announce ourselves
To publicise events etc.
To communicate among members
We’ve done the first and haven’t anything for the second yet, but is it possible to set up a discussion forum, which could do away with the tedious barrage of e-mails which inevitably result as we have information to share, or queries?
